Sacramento County ARES has been providing radio operators for the Great American Triathlon for many years – even back in the days when it was called the Eppie’s Great Race.

Our team covers the entire course – from the Guy West Bridge in the west, to Sunrise Blvd in the east. The Triathlon is a unique Run/Bike/Kayak event and presents several challenges to monitoring and reporting participant activity and safety.

Our team performed with excellence – including coordinating a quick-response medical team and a transport medical team to help a participant suffering from heat exhaustion.
